Academic Incentive Program

Mott High School participates in an academic incentive program sponsored by the Waterford School.  Students who achieve a GPA of 3.75 or higher will be recognized at the end of their 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th semesters.  The following recognition will be observed:  1st Semester/Academic Award Certificate, 3rd Semester/WM Academic Letter, 5th semester/Silver Service Bar, 7th semester/Gold Service Bar.

Articles included on this portion of our site come from students in the Webmasters class and teachers who would like to highlight specific courses.  

Mott students have the opportunity to select courses from the following departments:

 Graduation Requirements

Please note that grade status is determined by the number of credits students have earned. Students may earn 6 credits per year. To be classified as a sophomore students must have 5 credits, juniors must have all 12 credits, and seniors must have 16. A total of 24 credits is needed for graduation.  Beginning with the Class of 2008, every student must take the Michigan Merit Exam to be eligible for a Waterford School District diploma.

*1  Foreign Language Option:  Students who successfully complete 3 years of the same foreign language may waive the ½ credit of elective language arts in senior year.
