Brief History of Mott

Waterford Mott began in the fall of 1967 with only 10th grade classes housed at Mason Junior High School while the building was being constructed.  The following year, the Mott 10th and 11th grade students attended afternoons at Waterford Township High School. The building opened in the fall of 1969 with the first class graduating in June of 1970. In 1983, the district consolidated high schools and closed Township. This left two high schools in the district, Mott and Kettering. In the fall of 1990, 9th graders joined the Mott student body.
